After cuts were made, the studio announced it would open Wolf of Wall Street on Dec. 15, but Paramount was forced to abandon that date when the first cut of the film clocked in well north of three hours. Scorsese’s latest film had been set to open in theaters Nov. 25 in hopes of being a major awards player. Jonah Hill and Matthew McConaughey also star in the movie, which hits theaters Dec. Wolf of Wall Street, fully financed by Red Granite Pictures and costing $100 million-plus to make, is based on Belfort’s memoir of the same name. Scorsese and Paramount, which is distributing the movie in North America, had several exchanges with the ratings board in terms of what was needed to secure an R rating, sources say, although it wasn’t immediately clear what was edited out. Initially, the Classification and Ratings Administration Board indicated that Wolf of Wall Street, starring Leonardo DiCaprio as disgraced Wall Street broker and hedonistic party boy Jordan Belfort, was destined for the more restrictive rating because of abundant, explicit sex (not to mention drugs). It is so good it is worth owning.Director Martin Scorsese‘s The Wolf Street of Wall Street has garnered an R rating - instead of the dreaded NC-17 - after the filmmaker agreed to trim certain nudity and sex scenes, insiders confirm to The Hollywood Reporter. Overall - I can tell for sure I will watch this movie again. I didn't dislike a single thing about the movie. Leonardo is there in every scene, it looks like he is acting for the first time in his life, he is that riveting. BUT I COULDN'T help but feel Martin Scorsese took somewhat of a backseat in this movie and forgot one or two of his own inhibitions in trying to bring the protagonist to the front. The sets are amazing and I think the overall editing is fantastic. You like every single character, whether its Jonah Hill, the guy from walking dead, whether its Matthew McConaughey, the Vice Presidents, his wives, the kids, the cops. What I liked - Some nine scenes in the movie I found very funny. There is a lot of drugs and alcohol in the movie but irrespective of where you belong, you will like what you see. He never screws with their pay checks and he doesnt look at any obstacles, he has a very optimistic hedonist point of view of the world. He gets qualified and unqualified money hungry men sets them in a place and then teaches them everything he knows. So of course he idolises money, he preaches what he has been preached earlier.
You can feel the director was controlling my eyes and where they land.īrief intro of the plot - A wealthy stock broker who has discovered formulas to earn very high commission on the sale of penny stocks. When this movie starts for most of it, you are dumbfounded by the amazing sense of humour, the rapid dialogues and its amusing pace. There is a change in certain events, some shown before others, the movie sets its own pace. The Wolf of Wall Street (Blu-ray/DVD, 2014, 2-Disc Set, DC)
